Viral Video: On Martin Luther King Jr. Day, His Moving (And Prophetic) Last Speech


While his “I Have a Dream” speech is deservedly the most famous, the one Martin Luther King Jr. gave in Memphis on April 3, 1968, is perhaps the most moving.

That’s because he was assassinated the day after delivering his “I’ve Been to the Mountaintop” speech, which touches a lot on mortality.

“Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place,” King said to the crowd. “But I’m not concerned about that now.”

It’s tough to watch, but impossible not to continue to marvel at King’s eloquence:
