Razer will miss the Q4 shipping dates for its Blade gaming laptop and Tiamat 7.1 surround sound headset, saying that both products should be with customers by the end of January. By way of an apology, the company is giving freebies away to customers who sign up for notifications on the products.

Razer's highly anticipated 17-inch Blade gaming laptop will miss its Q4 ship date, the company has announced, with company CEO Min-Liang Tan saying that a last-minute decision to swap the 320GB HDD for a 256GB SSD has left the company struggling to source enough parts in time. He went on to say that the initial quantities of the laptops should now ship in mid to late January for North American customers. To make up for the wait, Razer is giving all customers a free custom-designed green and black Razer Orochi gaming mouse which will ship with the laptop.

Sadly for Razer, the Tiamat 7.1 surround headset has also seen a similar delay — this time blamed on wanting to tweak and add finishing touches to the headset before shipping it, which is now expected to happen at the end of January. Tiamat customers aren't left out of the giveaways, though — they're eligible for a free Razer-branded t-shirt and flask to make up for the wait.

To redeem the offers, simply hit the notify me button on the Razer Blade pre-order page or the "Stay notified" heading for the Tiamat.
