Of all the shortcomings or blindspots that Apple is susceptible to, advertising and explaining the merits of its product isn't usually one of them. iTunes Match, however, has proved a tough nut to crack, partly because it's a relatively unique service, even compared to Amazon and Google's music-uploading offerings, and because Apple seems to think nobody needs to know how stuff actually works. Well, now there's a whole new webpage for iTunes Match, complete with a detailed description of the service, a how-to guide, a FAQ, and a fancy video. One helpful tidbit is clarification on how iTunes Match approaches streaming and downloading songs, in case you were curious before making the plunge: songs will just stream from your iCloud by default, but download while playing if you tap the download button, after which they'll stick around for offline listening. Apple TV is streaming-only, of course. We feel so smart now!
