Apple just updated iTunes to version 10.5.2, which promises to bring improvements to the slightly-buggy iTunes Match service that launched last month. The company wasn't forthcoming with any details about what was specifically fixed, but since the service is still technically in beta we'll let it slide. There's also some fixes for an audio distortion problem that cropped up when playing or ripping CDs, for those who still do that.

Alongside this software update, Apple's rolling out the iTunes Store, iTunes Match, and iTunes in the Cloud in Brazil and Latin America. The store will feature Brazilian and international music across all major and independent labels, with a catalog of over 20 million songs at launch. In addition to music, over 1,000 movies are available to rent or purchase. This service joins the App Store, and pricing is similar to what we have in the States — most songs and albums are 99 cents and $9.99, respectively, and you can beta-test iTunes Match for $24.99 / year.
