Dual-core ARM tablets took a while to materialize, and longer to become affordable — the Motorola Xoom launched at $800, and it's only in the past couple of months we've seen $200 slates with fairly similar processor power. Quad-core chips, however, may not carry a premium for long, as Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang told reporters today that Tegra 3 tablets will cost $299 in just "a couple quarters." Early adopters hoping to pick up a Asus Transformer Prime will pay $499 for the privilege, but as ever, better prices are on the way if you're willing to stay behind the technology curve.
