Amazon Expands PBS Streaming Agreement

Amazon.com Inc. expanded a licensing agreement with the Public Broadcasting Service that allows its paid members to stream additional PBS programming, marking the Internet retailer’s latest advance in the red-hot online video battle.

Amazon, as well as companies like Apple Inc., have been pushing into the sector as demand for online content has soared. Netflix Inc. was a pioneer in the streaming video category, but has stumbled recently due to a big price increase and a now-shelved plan to separate its movie-streaming and DVD-by-mail businesses into two different operations.
