Apple announces 9 cities, dates for its iOS Tech Talk World Tour 2011

Apple's iOS 5 Tech Talk World Tour will be taking place again this year, …

Apple has announced the dates and cities for its annual iOS Tech Talk World Tour, giving developers in nine cities across Europe, Asia, and the Americas the opportunity to speak with and learn from Apple's own engineers. The nine cities include Berlin, London, Rome, Beijing, Seoul, São Paulo, New York City, Seattle, and Austin, and the dates run from November 2 to January 23.

Apple began doing the Tech Talk World Tours in 2008 (then just focused on iPhone, but now expanded to all of iOS) in order to reach out to more developers than those who could make it to Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Back then, the company tried to cover more than 20 cities, but scaled back after that to focus on the most popular destinations for developers in those regions.

This year's tour involves one day of schmoozing with Apple experts and engineers with panels that will discuss things like iPhone and iPad User Interface Design, adopting iCloud storage, app performance, AirPlay, maximizing location awareness, video and photo effects, and more. Developers who are interested in attending must register via Apple's developer site and select at least one session from each time slot in order to attend. If you write iOS apps and didn't get a chance to go to the sold-out WWDC this year, this could be a good opportunity to connect with other like-minded developers too, so why not?
