In yet another round of legal battles between Kodak and Apple, Kodak has found favor again with the U.S. International Trade Commission.

In this particular suit against both Apple and Research in Motion, which was first filed in January 2010, Kodak was fighting over patents related to previewing images on digital cameras integrated into mobile phones.

The two major findings the ITC presented in favor of Kodak were:

  • All of Apple and RIM's accused phones infringed upon the patent terms “at least three different colors"
  • RIM’s accused phones and certain Apple phones infringe upon the terms "intiating capture"

There are a few other patents as well, which make all of this seem a tad silly. But there you have it.

Kodak initially lost out to Apple and RIM earlier this year, but the road turned for Kodak in late March when it won the following round in this patent dispute.

Nevertheless, Kodak is still embroiled in another war with Apple over some more digital camera technology patents. Apple has claimed that those technologies were being used illegally in Kodak’s Z-series, M-series, C-series, and Slice cameras. Kodak won the most recent round in May, but an official decision in that case is expected to be handed out on September 19.
