Pencil This In: Curbside Splendor Karaoke Idol; Fundraiser For Bike A Bee!

Karaoke/Fundraiser

Curbside Splendor Publishing hosts a monthly "Karaoke Idol Chicago!" fundraiser at Beauty Bar in conjunction with Another Chicago Magazine and Quimby's Bookstore. This month's iteration on Thursday, April 25, features cultural and community oriented organizations Inspiration Corporation, Artifice Mag, Chicago Slam Works, Switchback Books, and defending champions Girls Rock! Chicago battling for braggng rights and a shares of the door money. (1444 W. Chicago Avenue, 8 p.m. - close, $5.)

Fundraiser

Bike a Bee, a group that tends to beehives nestled in community gardens across Chicago via bike, is having a fundraiser April 26 from 5 p.m. until midnight to cover the cost of new equipment and new packages of bees. They'll be serving local beer and spirits, hosting a bake sale where volunteer bakers are incorporating honey into their sweets and selling Bike a Bee merchandise. (3624 W. Wrightwood Avenue)
