Marc Williams death: Family appeal for information

The parents of a man who died after a suspected hit-and-run say they will not be able to bury him until witnesses come forward with information.

Marc Williams, 22, died on 1 December after being found on a Berkshire road.

Highways workers found him on the southbound entry slip of the A404M at Cox Green shortly after 02:30 GMT.

His parents Mark Williams and Joanne Parker say they "can't rest" without knowing how their son died. Police continue to appeal for witnesses.

Thames Valley Police believe Mr Williams may have been hit in a collision with a vehicle on the southbound entry slip.

In an interview with BBC Radio Berkshire, Mr Williams and Ms Parker revealed an inquest into their son's death will not take place until the new year while police investigations continue.

They have also been unable to arrange a date for his funeral.

His father said: "It's been every parent's nightmare. There are gaps in Marc's last movements and we have that 'not knowing' element.

"The worst part is not being able to lay him to rest in time for Christmas."

Marc was last seen leaving a pub in Maidenhead at 01:00 GMT after he had been to see a friend's band earlier in the evening.

CCTV footage shows him walking towards Cox Green after he had walked past a taxi rank at Maidenhead railway station.

Ms Parker added: "I just want to know what happened and that Marc didn't suffer.

"Until we get all the information, we can't rest.

"Somebody out there will know something about what happened."

Sgt Beth Walton said: "We are continuing to appeal for anyone with information about the incident to contact us as a matter of urgency.

"If you were walking or driving near that area between 02:00 and 02:30 GMT and you may have seen something, we would like to speak to you."
