Plane crash lands in field near RAF Cranwell

A training aircraft has crash landed near RAF Cranwell in Lincolnshire after a routine training sortie.

The Ministry of Defence said the Tutor aircraft made a forced landing in a field close to the base at about 12.30 GMT.

Both crew members are said to have walked away with no serious injuries. The initial assessment is that the aircraft has suffered some damage.

The Air Accident Investigation Bureau has started an investigation.

RAF College Cranwell is where RAF officers are selected and trained.
