  • The police chief of south suburban Robbins was charged with drunken driving after he was arrested in Midlothian. This is Robbins Police Chief Johnny Holmes' second DUI in three years. [Sun-Times]

  • Unemployment is down in 11 of 12 Illinois metropolitan areas. Decatur saw an increase to 10.2 percent in November 2012 over 9.8 percent unemployment in November 2011. [State Journal-Register]

  • A re-run episode of Chicago Fire that aired this week showed two firefighters pinned down by gunfire, and some say the choice to run the episode was distasteful in light of the shooting in Webster, N.Y.
