Mother Sues McDonald's After Toddler Eats McCondom

2013_3_14_mcdonalds.jpg A Chicago mother is suing McDonald's saying her son ate part of a used condom that he found in the restaurant's play area.

Anishi Spencer says her sons Jonathan, 3, and Jacquel, 2, were at the Gage Park McDonald's in February 2012 when they found the used condom on the floor and picked it up.

Spencer says later that day her son Jacquel coughed up a piece of that condom. Please excuse us while we gag a little.

She took both of her sons to receive medical treatment, who have "suffered lasting injuries, pain and discomfort."

The lawsuit claims McDonald's failed to properly clean the play area and failed to monitor "deviant activities."

She is seeking at least $50,000 in damages, which we think actually sounds a bit low. As Spencer's lawyer told Reuters, "This is a very disgusting case."

So far McDonald's has been mum on the incident.

UPDATE 3:45 p.m.: McDonald's sent a response to the Huffington Post.

“Providing a safe, clean environment is a top priority for us. This restaurant is no exception. We take these matters seriously and investigate all claims to gather the facts. At the time the lawsuit was filed, we had not completed our investigation and at no time have we given the alleged object in question to examine. These are just allegations and we strongly caution anyone from jumping to conclusions without having the facts.
Because this is now a pending legal matter, it would be inappropriate to further comment or speculate.”
