Pencil This In: Maple Syrup Celebration Tomorrow At River Trail Nature Center

By Amy Cavanaugh in Food on Mar 16, 2013 6:00PM

In one of the surest signs that spring is on the way, maple syrup is flowing out of maple trees. Tomorrow is a Maple Syrup Celebration at the River Trail Nature Center in Northbrook, and you can bring the whole family to take a tree-tapping walk in the sugar bush, learn how Native Americans and pioneers tapped sap and learn how we do it today, and sample syrup with French toast sticks. There are also other children's activities taking place during the free celebration, which runs from 11 a.m.-3 p.m.
