The drivers of two vehicles seen near where a suspected hit-and-run occurred are being sought by police.

Marc Williams, 22, died on 1 December after he was found by highways workers on a slip road for the A404M at Cox Green in Berkshire.

It is believed he was injured in an collision with a vehicle that failed to stop at the scene.

On Wednesday, his parents made a plea for people to come forward with information to help the investigation.

'Crucial information'

Mr Williams had been in Maidenhead on the night he died to see a friend's band.

After leaving a pub in the town centre at 01:00 GMT, he was last seen on CCTV passing a taxi rank at the railway station shortly after.

Police would like to speak to the drivers or passengers in two vehicles which were seen turning into Shoppenhangers Road from King Street around 02:20 GMT.

The vehicles are a silver Vauxhall Astra, possibly a mark 5, and a black Mercedes E or C class five-door saloon. Police believe it may have been a taxi.

Sgt Beth Walton said: "We have identified these two vehicles as being in the vicinity of where the incident happened and we are very keen to speak to the drivers or any passengers, as they could hold crucial information."
