A 20-year-old man who admitted slashing women with a blade has been remanded in custody.

Police warned women to be on their guard and issued CCTV footage after Sasha Masamba carried out his attacks in Hounslow last August.

Masamba, of Nicholes Road, Hounslow, pleaded guilty at the Old Bailey to two offences of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The prosecution accepted the pleas and he will be sentenced on 9 April.

Masamba had previously pleaded not guilty to the attempted murder of Kaja Zablocka, 19, on 7 August, and the attempted murder of Deserilyn Aurelio, 26, 10 days later.

Both women were attacked from behind and needed stitches. One of the victims sustained a wound to her neck while the other was slashed across her face.

Masamba was arrested at Hounslow railway station on 21 August.

Bobbie Cheama, prosecuting, said both victims had been consulted before the decision was made to accept his pleas to the lesser charges.
