LAKEVIEW — Another Lakeview vintage shop is shutting its doors and shooting for online sales.

Suburban Secrets, 1117 W. Belmont Ave., will close as soon as it finds a tenant to take over its lease, owner Lisa Cipriani said. She expects that to happen in the next couple of months.

The news comes just months after long-time Lakeview vintage shop Clothes Optional announced it would be closing.

Cipriani said she opened the shop about a year and a half ago. Her family has always loved antiquing, and she graduated recently with a degree in fashion merchandising, so opening the shop was a natural fit. But sales have not been robust enough to pay the rent, she said.

"We're just not making the money we need to," she said.

The shop has focused on clothes from the 1950s to the 1980s. She'll continue selling vintage items and inventory on Etsy as a hobby while she looks for other work. Once a definitive closing date is set, the store will be holding a sale, she said.

At 24, Cipriani sees the closing as an opportunity to discover what's next for her. Already, she has interviews at a variety of places — from retail stores like Anthropologie to an animal hospital, she said.

"I'm excited to see what's next," she said.
