Maison Brasserie To Close At The End Of March

This one really bums us out. Maison Brasserie, one of our favorite openings of 2012 and a great spot for classic French dishes, is closing on March 30.

Steve Dolinsky tweeted out the update earlier this morning.

Maison Brasserie closing the 30th. Drohomyreckys also leaving Eggy's behind. Cite tough location. Sue-Kim going to Lettuce (Mon Ami Gabi).

It's location, location, location, that led to the demise of Maison. As Grubstreet Chicago pointed out, it's a bit hard to get to Maison and that strange Lakeshore East neighborhood (that doesn't actually exist) is not bustling enough to keep even a good restaurant open. We had high hopes that a summer of Millenium Park events might be enough to keep a restaurant located so close to the action alive, but no such luck.
