Cocaine with an estimated street value of £5m has been seized by police in a raid in central London.

Police said they found 37 kg (81lb 6oz) of the drug in Golden Lane, Clerkenwell, in an intelligence-led operation.

A man, aged 23, was arrested in nearby Fann Street on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply. He remains in custody.

The police said the raid showed the "tireless" work of officers.

Acting Det Insp Tim Grinsted said: "I hope this sends out a clear message - our officers will find you, arrest you and you will face the full force of the law."
