IOGEAR wireless access point and computer-to-TV streamer refresh
IOGEAR really needs to start naming its products something other than stockroom codes and long-winded yet vague descriptions of what they do. After checking out the company's new Wireless 5x2 HD Matrix, we cast our eye over the GWAVR -- a little black box which plugs into your display via HDMI and functions as a wireless access point for streaming. It's intended to receive 1080p video and 5.1-channel audio from mobile devices and computers, welcoming content broadcast via WiDi, Miracast or DLNA from up to 30 ft away. A button on the side of the "dongle" switches between those three standards, and it's as simple as that.
In addition to the GWAVR, we briefly handled the GUWAVKIT4, the latest version of IOGEAR's simple screen-sharing solution which now supports all PCs and Macs. Plug the USB dongle into your computer, and it'll show your screen on whatever the accompanying box is plugged into (said box has HDMI and old-school VGA outputs). The GWAVR is due for release in March, and will cost $79.95. The GUWAVKIT4 goes on sale a little earlier -- in February -- for $149.95.

PC-to-TV Products for enhanced TV connectivity
New Wireless AV Products Satisfy Consumer Demand for Smartphone to TV; Laptop to TV Experiences
LAS VEGAS – January 8, 2013 – IOGEAR continues its connectivity industry leadership by unveiling today two wireless products to bridge consumers' favorite HD content across devices for high quality viewing experiences. The IOGEAR Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV is one of the first devices to enable wireless streaming from either the smartphone or laptop to the TV. In addition, the latest release of the Wireless 1080p Computer to HD Display Kit features new compatibility with Apple laptops and a smaller receiver with a horizontal profile for easier integration into entertainment systems. Both products will be demonstrated at the annual International CES (Central Hall, Booth #9029).
IOGEAR was the first to bring to market wireless streaming from a laptop or PC to a TV with the introduction of the Wireless Audio/Video Kit in 2008. The Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV and Wireless 1080p Computer to HD Display Kit builds on that innovative leadership, allowing individuals and families to move between devices and share content.

Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV
The Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV (GWAVR; MSRP $79.95) streams videos, photos, music and web content from a smartphone, tablet or laptop to an HDTV up to 30 feet away. Supporting both Intel® Wireless Display (WiDi) and Miracast, the product works with all the latest devices. Its additional advantage is that it also works with both iOS and Android smartphones and tablets. Users can wirelessly share photos or videos from smartphones onto the larger screen of an HDTV without compromising quality or ease of connectivity.
Additionally, select online content including Vimeo, Facebook, Picasa and YouTube is available to stream to the TV by downloading the free iMediaShare app to the smartphone or tablet. Smartphones capabilities are enhanced, using less battery power as content is played and the phone is used like a remote control.
The Wireless Mobile and WiDi to HDTV will be available online at www.iogear.com and through major distribution channels in spring 2013.
Wireless 1080p Computer to HD Display Kit
The Wireless 1080p Computer to HD Display Kit (GUWAVKIT4; MSRP $149.95) streams high definition video from a PC or Apple laptop to an HDTV up to 30 feet away. Building on previous product releases, the fourth generation IOGEAR product offers easy-to-use, reliable Apple compatibility and supports Microsoft's Windows 8. The smaller, horizontal profile of the wireless receiver will fit into almost any home entertainment space and features one HDMI and one VGA output for video support.
The Wireless 1080p Computer to HD Display Kit will be available online at www.iogear.com and through major distribution channels in late February 2013.
