Five-year-old killed in road crash in Wembley

A five-year-old boy has died after being struck by a van in north-west London.

The child, who was on foot, was hit by a Ford Transit van on Empire Way in Wembley on Monday afternoon, the Metropolitan Police said.

He was taken to St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, where the child later died. His next of kin have been informed.

The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene of the crash and no-one has been arrested as yet, the Met said.
