Israel has continued carrying out air strikes against targets in the Gaza Strip for a third consecutive day.
Israel said more than 600 sites had been targeted since Wednesday. It has vowed to intensify the assault.

Meanwhile, Hamas has continued to fire rockets into Israel, with several rockets aimed at Tel Aviv and - for the first time - at Jerusalem.
Life in some Israeli cities has come to a standstill, with many schools and businesses remaining closed. Although Israelis live in fear of further attacks, many have expressed their support for the government's actions against Hamas.

Three Israelis have been killed in the violence - the funeral of Itzik Amsalem was held on Friday in Kiryat Malachi.
Israeli troops have been massing on the border with Gaza. Up to 75,000 reservists have been called up. But some voices in the international community have appealed to Israel not to launch a ground offensive.
The Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has accused Israel of perpetrating massacres in Gaza. Local officials said at least 28 people had been killed in the territory by Friday, including seven children and a pregnant woman.
