Battersea Power Station flats go on sale

Flats built in the first phase of the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station, which closed in 1983, are due to go on sale on Thursday.

Prices will range from £340,000 for a studio flat to over £6m for each of the nine penthouses.

But some residents on a nearby council estate said there were no affordable homes.

No affordable homes will be built in the first phase and 500 affordable units are not due until phase five.

Rob Tincknell, chief executive of the Battersea Power Station Development Company, said the developers were making a commitment of £204m to the extension of the Northern Line to the area.

Gareth Furby spoke to investor Tan Kok Heng, local residents Lisa Evans and Mac Hassan, and Mr Tincknell.
