Man dies after being found seriously hurt in Lewisham

A man has died after being found by police investigating reports of a disturbance in Lewisham, south-east London.

Officers discovered the man, aged in his 20s, with serious injuries in Lewisham High Street on Saturday night. He died later in hospital.

Lewisham High Street remains closed at the junction with Courthill Road while officers from the Specialist Crime & Operations Directorate investigate.

No arrests have been made.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said they believed they knew the identity of the man, but he had not been formally identified yet.
