Police searching for a man who went missing on New Year's Eve have recovered a body from a field in Berkshire which had previously flooded.

Officers said the identity of the body had yet to be confirmed but it was believed to be Kewal Singh, 72, from the Chalvey area of Slough.

Police said the body was discovered on Friday morning in a field in Datchet, Slough, where floodwater had subsided.

Mr Singh's family have been informed, Thames Valley Police said.

Mr Singh, a dementia sufferer, was last seen at his home in Ragstone Road, Slough, on 31 December.
