The uncle-and-nephew nutjobs — foiled before they could allegedly act out a bizarre murder-for-hire plot involving Justin Bieber — were sorely disappointed when the bloodthirsty scheme went bust.

The plan unraveled in Vermont, where 23-year-old Tanner Ruane and his uncle, 41-year-old Mark Staake, had gone to allegedly kill two of their four victims — first by castrating them with Durasharp clippers and then strangling them with paisley ties, according to arrest affidavits obtained by the Daily News.

But Staake was unexpectedly picked up on an unrelated warrant on Nov. 19 as the pair took a wrong turn near the Canadian border. That left Ruane to fume over the missed opportunity to Dana Martin, the felon who allegedly hired them.

Martin had offered to pay them $2,500 per testicle. They were also ordered to use paisley ties because it was his criminal calling card.

The victims “don’t know how (expletive) lucky they got,” Ruane told Martin over the phone.

Martin, who’s currently serving a life sentence for raping and killing a 15-year-old Vermont girl in 2000, first met Staake when he was at the same New Mexico prison this year. He said he convinced him to carry out his death wishes.

Staake got Ruane involved after his nephew offered to fund the road trip from their Albuquerque, N.M., home to Vermont by selling his Xbox, TV and a gun, according to court papers.

But the men were betrayed.

Police say it was Martin, the mastermind, who alerted them to the plot. His reason for why is unclear. Authorities were able to set up recorded phone conversations between Martin and Ruane after Staake was arrested, according to the affidavits.

While Ruane allegedly acknowledged that the job had to end following his uncle’s arrest in Vermont, he was clearly disappointed and had told Martin that he and his uncle had the “heart” to finish his plan.

“Dude, this pisses me off so bad, brother! I wanted this (expletive) to go down so bad,” he said, adding that he had scoped out one of the victims’ houses the day before.

New Mexico police claim Martin’s main target was victim No. 3: Bieber.

Martin is obsessed with the Canadian-born “Baby” singer, and even has a tattoo of him on his leg, authorities say.

But the affidavits also claim Martin felt snubbed by the teen heartthrob after sending him several letters.

He told investigators he wanted “a measure of notoriety so that there would be people outside of prison who would know who he … was.” As part of the plan, Martin figured that Bieber’s bodyguard, described as the fourth intended victim, would have to die as well.

After the Vermont job, Staake and Ruane were allegedly going to kidnap Bieber in New York, where he was performing at Madison Square Garden at the end of November.

Previous news reports said Bieber was also supposed to be castrated, although the arrest affidavits don’t specifically say that Martin wanted the 18-year-old’s manhood mutilated.

Ruane was tracked after New Mexico police put a warrant out for his arrest. He was nabbed at a gas station near Albany, according to New York State Police.

“Troopers arrested Ruane as a fugitive from justice,” New York State Police said, adding that they “recovered tools and documents associated with the conspiracy while executing a search warrant on Ruane’s 1983 BMW.”

One of the “tools” was allegedly the hedge clippers, described by Ruane like ones used for “trimming … roses,” according to the affidavit.

New Mexico police charged Staake and Ruane each with two counts of conspiracy to commit murder and two counts of conspiracy to commit aggravated battery. They are currently seeking to have the men extradited from Vermont and New York.

As for Bieber, news of the terrifying plot didn’t stop him from pressing ahead Wednesday night at a radio station concert in Atlanta.

“We take every precaution to protect and ensure the safety of Justin and his fans,” Bieber’s rep said in a statement.
