Extra Extra: Chicago Skyway Fare To Increase To $4

  • The fare for the Chicago Skyway will jump from $3.50 to $4 on Jan. 1. The 8-mile road is operated by Skyway Concessions Company, a joint-venture between an Australian company and a Spanish company, which started a 99-year lease with the city in 2005. That company retains all revenue from the tolls. [AP]

  • A father was arrested after he was spotted handling his 5-month-old daughter aggressively, then fought with officers. [Tribune]

  • A 15-year-old died after the handgun he was playing with accidentally fired. [Sun-Times]
