YouTube has just announced the launch of an app for Nintendo Wii. Now available in the Wii Shop, the new app comes only days before Wii U — Nintendo's next home console`— debuts in the United States. In terms of user interface, YouTube for Wii closely resembles the PlayStation 3 version that arrived back in August, though the company says it has optimized the experience for Nintendo's Wii Remote. Support for channels, subscriptions, and most everything else you'd expect from a YouTube application is here. Naturally with the Wii's lack of high definition output, you won't be streaming anything in 1080p. The app is available exclusively to US customers at the moment, though YouTube says it will be expanding to other territories in the months ahead.
