Dead couple Terry and Myrna Kirby were 'loving parents'

A couple found dead at a Hertfordshire house have been described as "dedicated and loving" by their family.

The bodies of Terry and Myrna Kirby, who are understood to have been living apart, were discovered at at Mr Kirby's home in Cheshunt, on Friday.

Hertfordshire Police are treating the death of Mrs Kirby, 57, as murder and the death of her 72-year-old husband as suicide.

The couple's children said: "Our parents always wanted the best for us."

In a statement, the children, who did not wish to be named, said: "We are all still trying to come to terms with the shocking and tragic news of what happened last week.

"Our parents always wanted the best for us and were incredibly dedicated and loving.

"We are still trying to comprehend the situation and ask that we can be left alone to grieve in peace at this extremely difficult time."

The bodies were found at the property in Great Cambridge Road by ambulance staff at about 18:30 GMT.

The cause of deaths has not yet been revealed but officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the inquiry.
