Flickr photographer, Anthony White, was out at Highgate ponds with brave family members taking a bracing dip. Where were you?
Weldon Kennedy was out on the deserted London trail. It was a wet one out there, with shining pavements reflecting Christmas lights.
However, as Dave Pearce's Trafalgar Square photo shows, London was far from empty this year. Indeed, for those of us up at dawn it was genuinely surprising how many other early-birds were about in town, on Boris bikes, driving through or just wandering the streets in the dark beneath umbrellas. As the few cafes, restaurants and pubs opened up, they filled up. Ripley's Believe It Or Not seemed bustling. And by 7pm people were queuing out the door for the Aberdeen Angus Steakhouses on Haymarket.
Let us know if you did something unusual this Christmas Day in the comments. However you spent it, we hope you had a good one.
