Earlier this year Sprint began supporting carrier billing for the Google Play Store, allowing customers to purchase apps, movies, or music, and have the charges end up on their phone bill. It left Verizon as the only carrier without such an option, but now it appears Big Red is ready to join the party: the Google Play Store's Twitter account has announced that the functionality will be coming to Verizon "in the coming weeks." Details are slim other than that, but the move will no doubt be an added convenience for Android users on the carrier's network. Of course, whether there will be a new Verizon Nexus device for customers to be able to use it with still remains to be seen.
