Fifty bus routes in north London operated by Arriva are being affected by a 24-hour strike over pay.
Passengers have been warned to expect severe disruption on routes including some into central London such as the 29, 38, 73, 149 and 243.
The Unite union said Arriva London North bus drivers from nine garages are striking over a decision not to award workers a pay increase this year.
The industrial action started at 03:00 GMT.
Transport for London has advised passengers to check its website before travelling.
