A man aged 73 was killed in his home during a "violent" attack in south-west London.

Officers were called to a property in Hazlebury Road, Fulham, at 06:20 GMT after reports of a burglary at the address.

The London Ambulance Service was called but the man was pronounced dead.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said a murder inquiry was under way and next of kin had been informed as inquiries continued.

Police said there were other people in the house at the time but none of them was injured.
