A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of the theft of post in Surrey has been released on police bail.

The man, from the Hackney area of London, was arrested last week by officers investigating postal theft in the Woking and Guildford areas.

Police said he was also questioned about identity theft and the fraudulent use of bank cards.

It is believed about 75 people were affected by the thefts and the force has advised residents to be vigilant.
