Man arrested over fatal Fulham stabbing is sectioned

A man who was arrested in connection with a fatal stabbing in south-west London has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

Police were called to reports of an assault on Fulham High Street shortly before 19:00 BST on Thursday.

A 65-year-old man, who has not been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder and has been sectioned for a period of assessment.

A post-mortem examination gave cause of death as single knife wound, the Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
