Verizon and Nokia just announced that the Lumia 822 will be coming to Verizon Wireless, though unfortunately there aren't any pricing or release date details available yet. Rumors of this device surfaced a few weeks ago when a few photos leaked, and the official photos appear to match what we saw previously. It does appear that this phone will simply be a carrier-specific variant of the Lumia 820, the smaller and more modestly spec'd brother of the flagship Lumia 920. Nokia gave us very little in the way of details on this phone — all we know for sure is it will contain an 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and it will run on Verizon's LTE network. That said, it's safe to look at the Lumia 820 as a guide for what we'll see here, and it wouldn't surprise us to learn more about the device at Microsoft's Windows Phone 8 event this afternoon. While Verizon hasn't officially announced a price or release date, previous leaks suggest it'll be available on November 12th for $99.99.

Update: Nokia's Lumia 822 product page is now live and has a few more details for us. For starters, the handset will be available in three colors — black, white, and grey. It's not quite the eye-catching array we've seen for Nokia's other new Lumia handsets, but they look good nonetheless. As for specs, the Lumia 822 has the same 4.3-inch, 800 x 480 screen as the Lumia 820, and it also has the same dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor running at 1.5GHz.

Update 2: Nokia's US homepage now shows a $99.99 price point for the Lumia 822, along with the standard two-year contract — but there's still no word on when the phone will be available.
