Concern is growing for the welfare of a missing 15-year-old girl from Surrey, police have said.

Tonie Cox, from Horley, was last seen in Horley town centre on Saturday at about 19:00 GMT.

Surrey Police have been working with Sussex and Metropolitan Police officers to search areas including Hastings and Hounslow.

A spokesman for Surrey Police said the teenager was known to have friends and connections in both areas.

Police are also carrying out inquiries in Horley.

Officers said the teenager had gone missing previously but had either returned home or contacted friends or family a short time later.

Tonie has not been in touch with family, friends or police this time, despite repeated requests, police said.

Police have urged the teenager to contact them as soon as possible so they can ensure she is safe and well.

The missing girl has been described as white, 5ft 10in (1.8m), with shoulder-length blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a blue Nike hooded top, blue jeans and a black and white scarf.

Anyone with information has been urged to contact Surrey Police.
