Twins Killed in South Side Car Accident Identified

CHICAGO — The twin brothers killed in a car accident Saturday morning in Roseland have been indentified as Deabloe and Diapolis Banks. Both men were 22.

The men were in a 2008 Kia Optima driven by a 20-year-old woman. The vehicle was traveling north on South State Street Saturday morning when the woman lost control of it near 102nd Street, crashing into three parked cars and flipping over, according to reports.

The Banks brothers and the driver, who has not been identified, were killed. A 15-year-old girl also was injured and taken to Christ Hospital in stable condition. The driver was killed at the scene. The brothers were taken to Christ and Stroger hospitals, where they died.

Two people were taken to Christ Hospital in critical condition, and another was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, fire officials said. 

The 15-year-old was in stable condition at Christ Hospital, Chicago Police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said.
