Will your home be adorned with lights for the festival?

Will you be among the millions of Hindus, Sikhs and Jains around the world who will be celebrating Diwali - the festival of lights - which begins on 13 November?

The festival, which lasts several days, is one of the biggest events in the spiritual calendars of all of these religions.

It celebrates the victory of good over evil, light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance, although the actual legends that go with the festival are different in different parts of India.

Homes, shops and public spaces will be lit up with candles, while others will celebrate with sweets and songs and fireworks.

We want to produce a picture gallery with your best Diwali images - will you be creating special Rangoli patterns or perhaps you plan to cook a big feast for the whole family?

Thank you for your contributions to the Diwali festival of lights: Your pictures.
