The boyfriend of a woman found beaten to death at a flat in south London has been remanded in custody charged with her murder.

The body of Anastasia Voykina, 23, a Russian national, was discovered at the property in James Boswell Close, Streatham, on Monday.

Tests showed she died from multiple fractures to the face, head and neck.

Felipe Lopes, 27, of James Boswell Close, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' Court.

Mr Lopes will next appear at the Old Bailey on Tuesday, Scotland Yard said.

The last known contact between Ms Voykina and her family is thought to have taken place on 30 December.

Friends concerned about her whereabouts alerted police on Sunday. Formal identification has not yet taken place but next of kin have been informed.
