Elderly man dies after collision in Guildford

An elderly man has died after the car he was driving was involved in a crash with a pick-up truck in Guildford.

The man, in his 80s, was driving a Lexus car when it collided with an Isuzu recovery vehicle in The Street, Compton, at 10:10 GMT.

He was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital where he died of his injuries.

A passenger in his car was also taken to hospital, where his condition is described as serious but stable.

The driver of the Isuzu suffered minor injuries.

Police have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
