Two teenage boys have been charged with murdering a homeless man who was attacked outside a supermarket in Liverpool.

Kevin Bennett, 53, who police believe was sleeping rough, was attacked outside Iceland in Walton Road, Walton, at about 05:30 BST on 17 August.

He was taken to hospital with serious injuries but died six days later.

Merseyside Police said two boys aged 14 and 16 were rearrested on Friday and charged with murder.

A 42-year-old woman was also charged with perverting the course of justice.

Police said all three had been remanded in custody and were due to appear before Liverpool magistrates later.
