Shuttle Endeavour to take 12-mile drive through LA

The US space shuttle Endeavour is about to begin its very last journey, a 12-mile drive through Los Angeles to a museum where it will go on display.

The shuttle, which once travelled at more than 17,000mph, will be moved on the back of a special truck at two miles per hour.

Trees have been cut down, power lines have been moved and traffic signals removed to allow the shuttle to pass through the streets.

Alistair Leithead reports from Los Angeles.
