Horse-drawn boat recreates history in London

Help

A narrowboat has been pulled through London by horse for the first time in 60 years.

Tony Hales, chairman of the Canal & River Trust, says the restored Ilkeston would have been a typical sight before the introduction of engines.

BBC London arts correspondent Brenda Emmanus met the canal boat enthusiasts Alex Nunes of St Pancras Cruising Club and journalist Kate Adie.

The boat will be moored at the London Canal Museum until 23 September.
