Up-and-coming American rapper Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) was hired to perform at Microsoft's Atlanta retail store on Friday, but the software giant got more than it bargained for. MGK performed 'Hold On (Shut up)' for the crowd at the Microsoft Store, where he appeared to mark The Source magazine’s release of their annual Power 30 issue. After rapping "fuck these computers..." the rapper started jumping between tables at the store that contained laptop and tablet computers.

"Fuck these computers..."

Although it's unclear whether any damage was caused, a video of the event clearly shows MGK throwing a promotional sign from one of the tables. All Hip Hop reports that the rapper stomped on "at least five computers" before cops were called and Microsoft Store staff cut the music and microphone. MGK was clearly angered at Microsoft's decision to cut his music, telling staff "I'm not getting down" before demanding them to "play that shit." He was then promptly met by Microsoft Store employees and at least three police officers before being escorted to a private area at the rear of the store.

Microsoft regularly books recording artists for performances at its retail stores, but this table top performance was clearly not what it expected. We've reached out to Microsoft for an official comment and we'll update you accordingly.

Update: Microsoft tells us that The Source held a private event at the Microsoft Lenox Square Store. "We offer our stores as a venue for the community to use, and this event was not sponsored by Microsoft," says a spokesperson. "While the artist’s behavior was appropriate for a concert, some of it was not appropriate in a store environment."
