Viacom and DirecTV have reached a long-term agreement to bring all 26 Viacom Networks channels back to the satellite network. DirecTV Subscribers have been without Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, and others for over a week after the two companies disagreed on contract renewal terms. DirecTV claimed that Viacom was attempting to increase its carriage fees by 30 percent, and refused to pay the higher price.

The exact terms of the agreement aren't clear at present. In a press release, Viacom said:

"Viacom is extremely pleased to bring its programming back to DirecTV subscribers, and thanks everyone affected by the disrupting for their patience and understanding during this challenging period."

Update: DirecTV has replied, revealing a few details about the deal. It says that, as part of the agreement, its customers will gain the ability to watch Viacom programming on "tablets, laptops, handhelds and other personal devices" though its DirecTV Everywhere platform.

The company also revealed that "carriage of the Epix movie channel is not required as part of the new agreement," implying that it will be remain an optional add-on for its customers. DirecTV couldn't resist giving one last dig at Viacom, however, saying:

"The attention surrounding this unnecessary and ill-advised blackout by Viacom has accomplished one key thing: it serves notice to all media companies that bullying TV providers and their customers with blackouts won't get them a better deal."
