A public memorial service for astronaut Neil Armstrong will be held at the Washington National Cathedral at 10:00AM EST next Thursday, September 13th, the Associated Press reports. Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon and an inspiration to anyone who's ever looked up at the moon with wonder, passed away on August 25th following "complications resulting from cadiovascular procedures." The Washington National Cathedral is an appropriate venue, having been gifted a moon rock by the Apollo 11 crew on the fifth anniversary of the historic landing. The service will be open to the public on a "first come, first served basis" according to the Associated Press, and will also be broadcast on NASA television and streamed on both NASA's and the National Cathedral's websites for those who cannot attend.
