Birmingham taxi murder: Man, 28, charged

A 28-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a mother-of-three who died after she was fatally stabbed in a taxi in Birmingham.

Natasha Trevis, 22, from Weoley Castle, died shortly before 08:00 BST on Tuesday in the city's Northfield area. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the man was arrested in a garden in Allen's Farm, south Birmingham on Tuesday evening.

He will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday morning.

"Detectives investigating the death of Natasha Trevis in Northfield have tonight charged a 28-year-old man with her murder," West Midlands Police said in a tweet.

Local residents said paramedics had worked for 30 minutes to try to save Miss Trevis.

A police spokesman said earlier that specialist officers were supporting the victim's family.
