Nokia promised last month that it was planning to issue an update for its Lumia 710 and 800 devices to enable the Internet Sharing feature of Windows Phone "soon." It appears that a firmware update is now available for some Lumia 710 and 800C (Chinese variant) users. Nokiapoweruser claims the update, available in The Netherlands, Belgium, and Vietnam, enables internet tethering on both handsets, to share 3G data to other devices.

The update also appears to include the Windows Phone 7.5 "Refresh", known as Tango, which brings improvements to MMS, voice notes, and a new location alert icon. There is no official word from Nokia on the firmware, but a staggered rollout seems to be a common trend for Windows Phone updates so we'd expect to see this reach all Lumia 710 and 800 handsets shortly. If you picked up a Lumia 900 or you're waiting on a low-end Lumia 610, then you'll be pleased to know that both devices support Internet Sharing out of the box.
