Three Birmingham men who were arrested at Heathrow Airport on Thursday after arriving from Oman have been bailed until a date in June.
The trio were picked up as part of a planned, intelligence-led operation.
They were arrested by West Midlands officers on suspicion of possessing articles and documents with intent to use them for terrorist purposes abroad.
Police say the arrests were not in response to any immediate threat to public safety.
Two of the men, aged 33 and 39, are from the Small Heath area of the city and the third, aged 33, from Alum Rock.
As part of their bail conditions they must live and sleep at specified addresses, report to a police station three times a week, and adhere to an overnight (2200-0600) curfew.
